Keith Brenner see’s light and shadow differently. Working in a minimalist style and using early morning sunlight, his black and white images fuse common objects with their uncommon shadows. Bending Shadows is Volume One of the two-volume set. It explores how shadows bond to their objects in complex and simple ways while exhibiting unexpected beauty. At the core, Bending Shadows is reminiscent of minimalist black and white, still-life work of the 1920’s and 30’s.

The second volume, “Color, Shadow, Shape “ is the polar opposite. Using the same images as in Bending Shadows, Brenner offers a completely novel view using bright, flat colors reminiscent of the 1960’s, 70’s pop culture. Viewers can be somewhat startled seeing identical images from an unexpected point-of -view but his unique color palettes are quite capable of speaking for themselves.
